Some work in a community situation may also be available during non-teaching times of the year.

Work in education settings is typically over 2 x twelve-week semesters.Some additional out of class support for students as needed, including but not limited to: help with locating research, submitting assignments, paperwork, document organisation, exam support, sighted guide – full training provided.

Simplifying written information as needed Production of manual or electronic notes in a format appropriate to the needs of the student/client.

Previous experience is desirable but not essential as ongoing training, supervision and feedback will be provided. Students/clients are over 16 years of age and require note takers in a variety of educational subjects. Specialist subject knowledge is not essential.

In-house sensory awareness and OCNWMR Level 3 Notetaker training will be provided to ensure consistency and minimum standards are met. You will provide a manual note taking and/or an electronic notetaking service for people who have a hearing or vision impairment or an autism spectrum condition. Flexible working is required due to fluid student timetables. Hours will vary dependent on timetable demand and staff availability. We are looking to appoint Specialist Notetakers (manual and electronic) to work within the ASSIST team.
